Job summary

AMD is seeking a Master’s student in Electrical or Computer Engineering for a Spring/Summer co-op or internship. You will collaborate with engineers on discrete and embedded hardware, building applications for external and internal use and large-scale systems powering AMD hardware.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a US university's Master’s program in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, Python, MATLAB and ML/AI concepts is encouraged.
• Experience with ASIC design/verification, system/board design, and hardware validation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers on AMD’s discrete and embedded hardware products.
• Train to build applications for external/internal use and large-scale systems for the hardware org.

• Locations: Austin, TX, Boxborough, MA, Fort Collins, CO, Longmont, CO, Fishkill, NY, Rochester, NY
• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co‑op/intern term

Duration

• Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
• Summer Internship:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
• Summer/Fall Co-op:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027

What You Will Be Doing

• You will collaborate with Engineers and be responsible for some of AMD’s discrete and embedded hardware products.
• We will train you to build applications for external and internal use as well as large scale systems that improve the efficiency of AMD Hardware organization.

Who We Are Looking For

• You are currently enrolled in a US based University into a Master’s program majoring in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
  • C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, Python, Perl, Spice, Ruby, Chrome OS, MATLAB.
  • ASIC design and verification.
  • ML and AI.
  • System/Board design, circuit board layout, signal integrity, power design.
  • Hardware automation, validation and test.
  • UNIX and JTAG tools.
  • Pre-silicon and/or post-silicon platforms.
  • Computer architecture, CPU & GPU architecture.
