Job summary

AMD is offering a Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall co-op and internship program in the United States. You will work full-time (40 hours/week) in a hybrid or onsite arrangement across multiple locations, supporting Product Development Engineers in characterization and test program development for next-generation AMD microprocessors.

This role develops skills in data analytics, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university in an undergraduate degree program (CS, CE, EE or related).
  • Knowledge or experience with C++, Linux, scripting languages, and debugging tools is encouraged.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum paradigms and hardware basics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Product Development Engineers in characterization and build production test programs using parametric data and statistics.
  • Perform engineering and correlation studies to ensure yield, coverage, and ramp to production.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve efficiency.
  • Build and maintain technical documents; debug manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-gen AMD processors.
  • Participate in product debug and characterization to identify performance, process, and test sensitivities.

  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term
Duration
  • Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Summer Internship:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
  • Summer/Fall Co-op:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027
What You Will Be Doing
  • We will involve you in supporting Product Development Engineers in characterization and to build production test programs through parametric, data and statistical analysis
  • We will train you to perform engineering and correlation studies to ensure yield, coverage and meet target goal to initiate production ramp
  • Your involvement while working with multi-functional teams will help resolve production-related issues and improve efficiency
  • We will assign you tasks to build and maintain technical documents, debug manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors
  • We will encourage you to participate in Product debug and characterization to identify product performance, process, and test sensitivities
Who We Are Looking For
  • You are currently enrolled in a US based University in a Undergraduate's degree program majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply —
    • C++, Linux, Perl, Ruby, Shell script, Java or similar
    • GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar
    • XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban programming paradigms
    • Logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and debug
    • Solid understanding of transistors and computer basics
    • Courses in computer science, software engineering, digital logic, circuit theory, computer architecture
