Job summary

Under Canvas is seeking a Line Cook for our seasonal operations in the White Mountains, Dalton, NH. You’ll work across grill, sauté, fry, prep, and pantry stations, supporting the live-fire kitchen and guest dining experiences.

You’ll follow food safety protocols, collaborate with the Back of the House team, and help deliver quality dishes for diverse guests year-round in outdoor settings. This hourly position requires adaptability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and food handling standards.

Salary Range: $13.00 To $15.00 Hourly

Summary

As a Line Cook, you are an integral part of our food and beverage program.You will work with other Back of the House team members to deliver on culinary standards in our live fire kitchens. Working in various stations including grill, sauté, fry, prep, pantry, outdoor pop-up dining experiences, and providing support to the overall operation makes you the heart of the operation. You will keep our guests and team members safe by following food safety and sanitation protocols. Your goal is to work as a team to push out quality dishes to create memorable dining experiences.We cater to a diverse range of guests including groups, families, and individuals varying in age, interests, and with various degrees of comfort in outdoor elements.This is a seasonal, hourly position.

Key Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable about menu ingredients and food preparation methods to help navigate guest questions and special dietary needs

• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently or in collaboration with your team and/or supervisor

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be obtained by property opening date or before starting any work involving food or alcohol handling
• Ability to follow direction
• Friendly Team-Player
• Line or grill cook experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
• This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
• Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
• This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
