Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area for a hands-on internship focused on autonomous surface vehicles and related technologies. You will design, simulate, build, and field-test subsystems, contributing to disruption in autonomy.

The internship emphasizes mentorship, training, and real project work, with a prepaid stipend and flexible schedules at select locations. The program runs 10 weeks in the summer in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, CIS, MIS, or related field.
• Programming in C/C++, C#, Python, or Java.
• Ability to commit to 40 hours per week during summer with flexible 5/8 or 4/10 schedules.

About This Role

Textron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration, vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities.

Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field‑testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilitiesWe workon applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products.

• C/C++, C#, Python, and/or Java programming
• Ability to work 40 hours/week over the course of a summer on a combination 5/8, 4/10 schedule, with every other Friday off!
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
