Job summary

Textron's Howe & Howe division in Waterboro, ME seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to real projects while gaining hands-on experience. You will work on designs and analysis under mentorship, preparing for a future in engineering.

We’re looking for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with an interest in automotive design and familiarity with CAD tools like AutoCAD or SolidWorks; U.S. work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create electrical schematics, harnessing design, and drawings in CAD systems (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
  • Perform engineering calculations, write specifications, sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers for data package delivery.
  • Support prototype build, troubleshooting and documentation as required.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide design solutions.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications and incorporating them into the system design.
  • Interest in automotive design related field.

About This Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating electrical schematics, harnessing design, and drawings in CAD system such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Performing engineering calculations, writing specifications, formulating sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, and cost estimates.
  • Providing technical support to both internal and external customers for technical data package delivery.

  • Familiarity with Military standard and specifications then incorporating them into the system design

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field of study.
  • You will not now, or in the future, require sponsorship (i.e. H-1B visa, etc.) to legally work in the U.S.

Textron's compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$28 - $32 per hour.
