Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks an engineering intern at its PEM plant in Longview, TX to support project work under supervision. You will observe department activities, assist supervisors in daily tasks, and participate in safety and environmental programs while maintaining an intern journal and presenting to management.

Candidates must be in good standing as a Electrical Engineering major, have a 3.0+ GPA, and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
