Job summary

Westlake Chemical invites rising engineers to join our PEM plant internship program in the United States. You will engage in assigned projects under mentor supervision, observe department activities, and assist with daily tasks while actively participating in safety and environmental programs.

You will maintain an intern journal and deliver a presentation to the management team, gaining hands-on experience in process chemistry and plant operations.

Qualifications

• Must have completed second year of college.
• Majoring in Chemical Engineering.
• Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
