Responsibilities

• Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Establishes accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
• Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods; may assist facilities engineers in planning and design of facilities.

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Industrial Engineer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Roy, UT.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

Responsibilities may include:

• Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
• Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.

• Be majoring in or having majored in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial and Operations Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering.

• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.

• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

Intern Pay Range :

Bachelors: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Masters: $32.75 to $35.50 per hour
