Job description

Solidigm is seeking talented and motivated graduate students for our Hardware, Electrical Validation & Product Engineering Internships in the United States. This evergreen posting supports multiple internship opportunities across electrical validation, hardware bring-up, signal integrity, SSD product engineering, and performance characterization.

As an intern, you will work on real engineering challenges supporting Solidigm's data center SSD products, including testing and validating hardware and system behavior, analyzing electrical and reliability data, and supporting product characterization.

This internship is ideal for graduate students who enjoy hands-on problem solving, using lab equipment, and analyzing complex data to help bring data center storage products from development through validation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support validation and characterization of SSD hardware, components, interfaces, and platforms; execute test plans and verify electrical and functional requirements.
  • Assist with validation and debug of high-speed signals and interfaces such as PCIe, including signal-integrity, power-integrity, and interoperability investigations.
  • Use lab equipment-oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and automated test systems-to collect data and troubleshoot issues.
  • Validate SSD behavior in system environments; reproduce issues and analyze logs to support root-cause investigations.
  • Support product characterization of performance, power, thermals, and reliability; analyze trends and communicate findings.
  • Develop or improve test scripts, dashboards, and automation frameworks to improve validation efficiency and reporting.
  • Analyze benchmark, telemetry, and test-log data to identify trends, anomalies, or product risks.
  • Support technical analysis of SSD products, customer requirements, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, firmware, validation, and product teams; document test methods and findings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of analog and digital circuits, computer architecture, or electronic systems.
  • Experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python, C, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development or test environments.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers.
  • Familiarity with PCIe, NVMe, NAND flash, SSDs, or data center server platforms.
  • Coursework or project experience in signal integrity, power integrity, or electronic validation.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, board-level debug, or system integration.
  • Exposure to test automation, data collection, or test-framework development.
  • Familiarity with performance benchmarking, telemetry, or log analysis.
  • Interest in technical marketing, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical communication.
What You'll Gain
  • Work on meaningful projects tied to real data center SSD products and engineering priorities.
  • Gain hands-on experience with hardware validation, electrical characterization, and lab automation.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop practical skills in lab measurement, debugging, and technical communication.
  • Present your work and contribute to solutions that may influence future products.
  • Grow your professional network through mentorship and intern program activities.
