MSD Malaysia invites you to join the Future Talent Program in the BARDS division. This 10–12 week internship features projects that help you develop skills and test fit with our company.

The Statistical Programmer intern will develop and execute statistical analyses and reporting deliverables under the guidance of a senior programmer, supporting all therapeutic areas. You will collaborate with scientists across Research & Development, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to analyses

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled and have completed two semesters of an MS in a related field by May 2027.
  • Full-time hybrid internship for 10–12 weeks starting June 2027.
  • Data analysis experience and programming skills.
  • Willingness to learn programming languages and techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate on a team, take direction, and complete tasks on time.

Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last 10-12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Statistical Programming is in the Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) department at our company Research Labs which supports the targeting, discovery, development, manufacturing, and marketing of drugs and vaccines for the benefit of patients and global public health. Statistical programmers have a key role in the analysis and reporting of our company clinical trial databases. Statistical programmers use their analytical skills to programmatically develop and deliver analysis datasets, tables, listings, and graphics. These deliverables are then utilized by our company's scientists and health authorities to interpret the results and inform decision making about the effectiveness and safety of our company's drugs and vaccines.

Statistical programmers support all therapeutic areas and every phase of drug development in partnership with scientists across our Research & Development Division.

The statistical programming intern will develop and execute statistical analysis and reporting deliverables under the guidance of a senior level programmer.

Required Education and Skills
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled students and have completed a minimum of two semesters of work towards an MS in Computer or Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field by May 2027.
  • Candidates must be able to commit to full-time hybrid employment for 10 - 12 weeks beginning June 2027.
  • Candidates must have data analysis experience and programming skills
  • Candidates must possess a willingness to learn programming languages and new programming techniques
  • Candidates must have the ability to collaborate with others on a team, take direction, and complete programming tasks on time.
  • Candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills.

Salary range

The salary range for this role is $$39,908 - $111,111 FTP2027 RL2027
