MSD Malaysia invites MS/PhD students to join the Future Talent Program in BARDS (Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences) for hands-on projects in preclinical and clinical biostatistics. Interns will work with seasoned statisticians on data analysis spanning drug research, development, regulatory science, and health technology assessment.
The 12-week, full-time summer internship starts May 2027, with emphasis on strong communication and proficiency in SAS, S-Plus, or R.

In BARDS (Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences), a distinguished department within our company's renowned Research and Development division, quantitative scientists, in partnership with other subject matter experts, apply state-of-the-art scientific methodologies and tools to enable the discovery, development, regulatory approval, manufacturing, and marketing of medical drugs and vaccines for the benefit of patients and global human health. The department is hiring interns for Preclinical Biostatistics and Clinical Biostatistics and seeking students enrolled in an MS or PhD degree in Statistics or Biostatistics. In these internships, you will work closely with an experienced pharmaceutical industry statistician to perform statistical analysis of data from and/or statistical research related to basic drug research, clinical pharmacology, drug and vaccine development, biomarker development, pharmacogenomics, AI/ML, health technology assessment or methodological research. This is a full-time summer internship position.
Candidates must be currently enrolled students and have completed at least (2) semesters of graduate work towards an MS or PhD degree in Statistics or Biostatistics by May 2027. Candidates must be available to work full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May or June 2027. Candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills. Candidates must have a good working knowledge of SAS, S-Plus, and/or R. The salary range for this role is $$39,908 - $111,111 FTP2027 RL2027
