Merck is offering a Future Talent Program internship of up to 12 weeks in the Global Support Division, contributing to maternal health initiatives and health equity. The role supports the Social Impact and Sustainability team with research, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of college completed, experience in public health or related fields, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk research around key topics within global health and related areas.
  • Conduct targeted analysis on a topic or geography.
  • Support meeting preparations with internal and external stakeholders, communication and reporting.
  • Draft/review routine program reports; develop talking points, web site content and presentations.
  • Review grantee reports and aid synthesis of impact.
  • Participate in partner meetings and opportunistic conferences during the 12-week period.

Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Global Support Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Together with partners across sectors, we are promoting safe, high-quality, equitable and respectful maternity care for people everywhere so no woman has to die while giving life. We steward our Company’s engagement in Advancing Health Online – an initiative exploring how social media and online engagement can increase the health and resilience of communities around the world.

Responsibilities

The incumbent supports the activities of the Social Impact and Sustainability team in support of our global maternal health initiative including responsibilities related to:

Programmatic Support
  • Conduct desk research around key topics within global health which could include quality improvement, health systems strengthening, patient and/or provider-focused solutions, etc.
  • Conduct targeted analysis on a particular topic or geography
  • General support for meeting preparations with internal and external stakeholders, communication, and reporting
  • Draft/review routine program reports; develop talking points, web site content and presentations based on inputs from grantees and collaborators
  • Review grantee reports and support synthesis of impact
  • Participate in partner meetings and discussions as well as opportunistic conferences and events during the 12-week period.
Education Minimum Requirement
  • Completed 2 year of college education.
Required Experience And Skills
  • Experience in public health, international development, public policy, and/or corporate responsibility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills with a high degree of diplomacy and teamwork needed. Must be able to work collaboratively while also exercising independent, good judgment with limited supervision.
Preferred Experience And Skills
  • Qualifications: B.S./B.A. Degree in progress, MPH degree candidate strongly preferred

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $39,908 - $111,111
