Job summary

Merck is seeking high-potential graduates for the IT Emerging Talent Rotational (ETR) Program. Over two years, you will complete three rotations across Cloud, Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Software Development, Data/Analytics, AI/ML, UX, and more, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world life sciences IT environment.

As an entry-level professional, you will work in a hybrid setup with potential rotations in Rahway, NJ or West Point, PA, contributing to innovative healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR a minimum of a high school diploma with at least 2 years of computing/technical equivalent experience which could include IT, related certificates, and/or military.
• Candidates are flexible to be placed in an assignment based on current business needs.
• Candidates must have completed at least 1 internship, apprenticeship, co‑op, or equivalent professional role in a technology‑related field.
• Ability to learn a complex, cross‑functional, business & technical environment with new concepts quickly.
• Candidates agree to rotate through three different technology‑related roles throughout IT for the 2‑year duration of the program.

IT Emerging Talent Rotational (ETR) Program

The IT Emerging Talent Rotational (ETR) Program cultivates the technical, business, and professional experience of entry-level technologists. Working in teams alongside highly skilled professionals, ETR employees apply their passion for technology to help our company develop and provide innovative products and services aligned to our most critical business outcomes.

Role

Over the course of 2 years, as an IT ETR, you will complete 3 rotations, gaining experience across multiple roles and areas within IT. We’re looking for emerging talent who have a passion for applying technology to invent novel life‑saving drugs, broaden access to medicines and vaccines, and enable next‑generation healthcare solutions. Rotational opportunities could be available throughout the following technical areas:

• Cloud
• Enterprise Architecture
• Cyber Security
• Software Development
• Data / Analytics

Salary Range

$71,900.00 - $113,200.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
