Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas is seeking an entry-level Pilot Flight Operations professional to join the Pilot Development Program. This role emphasizes hands-on training, mentorship, and cross-functional exposure to drive early career growth and aviation expertise.

The role involves flying, ground instruction, and support activities across the piston fleet, adhering to FAA/ICAO regulations and Textron policies while building operational readiness and customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Science or related field.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating and SEL/MEL.
  • FAA Second Class medical (or better) with ability to obtain First Class.
  • CFI and CFII certificates required.
  • Minimum 800 flight hours and 400 hours of dual given.
  • US Passport or ability to obtain.
  • FAA MEI preferred.
  • FAA Complex and High-performance endorsements preferred.
  • Previous classroom experience as a ground instructor preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital/glass flight decks preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a flight and ground instructor for customer entitlement training in the piston fleet.
  • Exercise flights and flight shadow through sales demonstration flights and marketing support.
  • Operate company and customer aircraft globally within all applicable FAA and ICAO regulations. Comply with all regulations and local operating procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of appropriate aircraft models, systems, avionics, equipment, options, product changes, and updates.
  • Attend training as required, including: initial and recurrent aircraft training, emergency procedures training, crew coordination training, international procedures training, and other training as deemed necessary by management.
  • Perform office tasks such as expense report and flight log preparation, international planning, aircraft flight manual and approach plate updates, and other tasks normally associated with day-to-day flight operations.
  • Adhere to and support Flight Operations policies, procedures, guidelines, and responsibilities.
  • Communicate with and ensure department personnel are aware of noteworthy issues.
  • Always maintain safety as the prime consideration for all operations.

Education
