Job summary

Kautex, part of Textron, seeks an entry‑level Engineer to join the Metallurgical Laboratory in US-Michigan-Muskegon. You will assist with lab operations, testing, and procedures, gaining exposure to ISO accreditation and cross‑functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in materials science and strong communication. This full‑time, first‑shift position offers growth within a global automotive supplier network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in materials science or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills essential for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Project Management experience is a plus; strong ethics and values drive work quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing the functions of Metallurgical laboratories including training of personnel, scheduling of work, maintenance and repair of equipment, purchase of equipment and supplies, and writing test procedures and reports.
• Perform daily tests as necessary, monitor customer development through test reports and process customer returns in an expeditious manner.
• Responsible for independent accreditation of Laboratory to current ISO standard.
• Adherence to all applicable Kautex and Textron policies, procedures, and compliance directives and adhere to all laws applicable to the facility in order to support the overall Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
