Job summary

Textron's CWC Textron division is seeking a 2027 Entry Level Metallurgist to join our on-site lab team in Michigan. You will assist in directing metallurgical laboratory functions, train staff, schedule work, and maintain equipment while writing procedures and reports.

You will perform daily tests, monitor development, and process returns promptly while ensuring ISO accreditation and compliance with Textron policies to support the plant's operating plan and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in materials science or equivalent required.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Ethics and integrity expected in all tasks.
• Prioritization and drive for results are essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing functions of Metallurgical laboratories including training of personnel, scheduling of work, maintenance and repair of equipment, purchase of equipment and supplies, and writing test procedures and reports.
• Perform daily tests as necessary, monitor customer development through test reports and process customer returns promptly.
• Responsible for independent accreditation of Laboratory to current ISO standard.
• Adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, and compliance directives to support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
