Job summary

Stellantis invites undergraduates to join the Propulsion Systems internship at the Auburn Hills HQ. You will contribute to design, development, calibration, and validation across engines, transmissions, batteries, and propulsion controls.

Expect hands-on experience, teamwork with industry leaders, and opportunities to return as a full-time hire. Based in Auburn Hills, you’ll work on-site 5 days per week May–August 2027, with relocation assistance possible for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher from ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Automotive Engineering
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during internship
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Willingness to relocate for internship, if applicable
  • Completion of freshman year or higher by Spring 2027
  • Authorized to work in the United States

INTERNSHIP FORMAT

This internship will follow an in‑person model. Interns will be based at the Stellantis Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and are expected to work on‑site 5 days per week, depending on business needs. Relocation assistance may be available for candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria. The internship program is scheduled to run from May through August 2027.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Are you ready to help shape the future of mobility? Within Stellantis Product Development & Technology (PDT), our Propulsion Systems team is driving innovation on a global scale.

What we do: Design, develop, calibrate & validate Propulsion Systems globally including traditional engines, transmissions, battery electric, alternative fuels, hybrids, thermal, HVAC, intake & exhaust systems, vehicle & propulsion controls and software.

This internship offers a hands‑on experience in the design, development, and validation of advanced propulsion technologies, including internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and electrified powertrains.

As a PDT Summer intern in Propulsion Systems, you will support one of the following areas:

  • Engines
  • Transmission, Driveline & Reducers
  • Battery, Cells, Modules & Packs
  • Electric Drive Systems & Propulsion Controllers
  • Electrified Architectures
  • Propulsion Systems Quality Management
  • Calibration
  • HVAC & Engine Systems
  • Vehicle & Propulsion Controls & Software
  • Testing & Analysis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Automotive Engineering at an ABET-accredited program
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during the internship
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Willingness torelocateforinternship, if applicable
  • Completion of freshmanyear or higher at an accredited college or university by the spring of 2027
  • Authorized to work in the United States
