Job summary

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey offers a two-year Engineering & Architecture Associates Program for students earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree between September 2026 and May 2027. Participants rotate across disciplines and facilities, then focus in year two on their chosen discipline while gaining mentorship, training, and networking.

Associates are full-time permanent employees with a yearly salary and benefits, with potential career growth within the Engineering Department

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Data Science, Computer Science, IT, or related field between Sep 2026 and May 2027.
• Demonstrated passion for public service and interest in public transportation.
• Previous Engineering/Architecture internship(s) and openness to rotating through disciplines and Port Authority facilities.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire; FE exam passing or plan to take it (engineering applicants).
• Architecture applicants should have a portfolio (drawings, designs, projects, models, etc.).
