Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking motivated interns in engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain who will support Configuration Management and Component Engineering on defense products at our Andover, MA campus. The role provides hands‑on experience with BOM analysis, ECO processes, and part lifecycle management.

You will gain exposure to PLM-based change control, component-level reliability analysis, and data management, while using Excel and MS Office to enable informed decision making and process

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s program in engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• GPA minimum 3.1; transcripts required.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office; strong customer focus.
• Able to work independently or in a team; follow through with minimal supervision.
• Self-starter with drive to deliver impactful results.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engineering change management via PLM systems.
• Analyze BOM configurations to ensure enterprise standard compliance.
• Perform obsolescence reviews and manage electronic component obsolescence.
• Create, administer, and data-manage part lifecycle to end-to-end status.
• Conduct component-level analysis to meet reliability requirements.

Internship from May/June - August/September 2027

No relocation assistance or housing provided

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovation Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas. In this hands‑on role, you’ll support the Configuration Management and Component Engineering teams of Mercury Systems working on variety of defense and warfare products.

Job Responsibilities

• Facilitate the engineering change management process using our product lifecycle management systems.
• Facilitate analysis of design configurations for bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Perform obsolescence reviews and obsolescence management of electronic components ensuring operation continuity.
• Perform part creation, administration, and data management ensuring end‑to‑end part lifecycle.
• Perform component level analysis for compliance with reliability requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in engineering discipline, manufacturing discipline, or supply chain discipline

• A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process

• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite
• Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism
• Able to work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
• Able to translate engineering knowledge into structured business processes and decision-support systems
• Self-starter and motivated to deliver impactful results

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with EIA-649 standard for configuration management
• Familiarity with end‑of‑life management practices for electronic components
• Familiarity with electronic components at a technical and fabrication level
• Familiarity with PowerBI, or other business intelligence or analytics platforms
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management
• Familiarity with hardware engineering design principles
• Familiarity with GIDEP, part change notices, Silicon Expert (or equivalent)
• Familiarity with Python and data analysis tools
• Comfortable preparing and giving presentations

Pay Grade Range

Full time Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position: $17.00 - 38.00/hour
