Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Communications Intern to join the Employee & Digital Communications team in Houston. This role offers hands-on experiences across employee communications, media relations, analytics, social media, and events as part of a collaborative corporate environment.

You will help research, write, and edit news stories, blogs, and social content while supporting campaigns that educate employees on company goals related to climate action and plastics circularity.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment or recent graduate in Communications, Marketing or related field.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Attention to Detail & Creativity.
• Strong Writing Skills, Critical Thinking and Teamwork.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and social media platforms. Familiarity with Adobe Procreate, iMovie, Canva is a plus.
• Fluent in English is required, and proficiency in French or German is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Assist our Employee & Digital Communications team with projects related to employee communications, media relations, metrics and analytics, social media, and employee volunteerism and events.
• Play a key role in rolling out and educating employees on the company's goals related to climate change and plastics circularity.
• Research and write news stories, develop content, and coordinate volunteer events; write articles, blogs, and social media posts, and edit copy.
• Use tools like Sprinklr to monitor media channels during crises and contribute to video creation/editing for various platforms.
• Participate in brainstorm sessions, client meetings, and department meetings, collaborating with a team of professionals.
