From day one, interns are immersed in BNY's collaborative and innovative culture through onboarding, standout projects, structured mentorship, and cross‑practice exposure across risk, compliance, AI, and data analytics.
Risk & Compliance is responsible for establishing the framework, policies, guidance, and tools that support risk and compliance management across BNY. Led by the Chief Risk Officer, the function provides independent oversight, monitoring, and challenge of risk decisions and activities throughout the risk management lifecycle. Interns gain hands‑on experience working with global teams across key areas such as credit, market, liquidity, technology, operational, compliance, model, AI, and enterprise risk, while building an understanding of how strong governance and consistent standards support the firm. As AI, GenAI, automation, and data‑driven tools continue to transform financial services, Risk and Compliance analysts help evaluate emerging risks, strengthen controls, support responsible AI adoption, and translate complex information into insights that promote safe, sustainable growth. This includes exposure to how AI is governed, monitored, and used responsibly across the firm, including areas such as model risk, regulatory compliance, technology risk, data quality, control design, and the safe use of AI‑enabled tools.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $52,000 and $80,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑ sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at‑will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting.
Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, the employee will be in an “at will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payments or compensation programs) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
