Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks an Associate/Level 1-2 FPGA Digital Engineer to join our Software and Controls engineering team. The role focuses on designing and validating FPGA algorithms for on-orbit SDR signal processing, with responsibilities spanning requirements, coding, integration, and verification.

The position is 100% on-site with opportunity to contribute to high-impact national security programs and travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation, integration, and testing of FPGA algorithms for space/defense systems.

• Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews.

Qualified candidate will get an opportunity to join a diverse group of engineers supporting our programs.Selected candidate will be a part of an innovative & fast-paced team that develops new products for the on-orbit Software Defined Radio (SDR) signal processing products for national assets that help to protect the country. Primary assignment will be the design, implementation, integration, and testing of FPGA algorithms for space systems. This includes working through all phases of a development program including requirements definition and refinement, requirement flow-down and allocation, design, coding, integration, lab testing, and verification.This is a 100% on-site position.Basic Qualifications:Associate Digital Engineer (Level 1)Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, or related STEM degree and related engineering experience.Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)Experience with Python or similar scripting languageAbility to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)Basic Qualifications:Degital Engineer (Level 2)Masters degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, or related STEM degree and related engineering experience.Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)Experience with Python or similar scripting languageAbility to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)Preferred Qualifications:Experience with high-speed digital interfacesExperience with modelling algorithms in MatlabExperience implementing digital signal processing algorithms in FPGAsExperience with Systems on Chip (SoCs) FPGA/SW integrationBasic knowledge of RF systemsCurrent or active DoD top secret clearanceThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
