Job summary

Florida Blue invites applications for an Actuarial Intern in Jacksonville for the Summer 2027 program. You will work on high-impact projects under mentorship and may receive intern housing near the St. Johns Town Center, within 10 miles of the beach.

Ideal candidates are full-time students with a 3.0+ GPA, strong MS Office skills, and an interest in actuarial work. Knowledge of SAS/SQL/VBA is a plus, with a collaborative, growth-focused culture.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student and not graduating before Fall 2027 semester.
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or better.
  • Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of programming languages (SAS, SQL, VBA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own real, high-impact projects informing strategic decisions.
  • Understand actuarial impact at scale and how your contributions affect members' health.
  • Learn from a dedicated mentor and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Build cross-functional knowledge by connecting with actuarial colleagues.
  • Present your summer project findings to the actuarial department.

  • This position is in Jacksonville, FL

Required Skills:

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Hourly Pay Range:

$22 - $36

Typical Hourly Pay Range:

$22 - $27

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
