Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the full recruitment cycle: posting positions, sourcing candidates, reviewing résumés, screening applicants, and coordinating communications.
  • Support campus recruiting efforts, career fairs, information sessions, and recruitment events.
  • Assist with onboarding activities and orientation for new hires.
  • Participate in rotation supporting internship and fellowship programs, including events and program development.
  • Compile HR metrics, reports, and materials for management.

Job description

This role is part of the Augusta National Internship Program, a 10-month, paid program based onsite in Augusta, Georgia. The program provides Interns with hands-on professional experience and meaningful opportunities to contribute within their respective areas while gaining exposure to Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. The Human Resources Internship provides a current student with meaningful, hands-on experience in a fast-paced sports and hospitality environment. Through planned rotations, the HR Intern will gain exposure to key areas of Human Resources, including Talent Acquisition, the Augusta National Internship and Fellowship Programs, Total Rewards, Learning and Development, and HR Business Partner functions. The HR Intern will support all aspects of the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, evaluating, screening, and interviewing candidates. Additional responsibilities include assisting with Intern and Fellow recruitment and programming, Masters Tournament preparation, onboarding initiatives, employee engagement efforts, and general Human Resources responsibilities. This role requires the highest level of professionalism and discretion, as maintaining the strict confidentiality of all Club business is essential.

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Assists with the full recruitment cycle, including posting positions, sourcing candidates, reviewing résumés, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and supporting candidate communications.
  • Assists with campus recruiting efforts, career fairs, information sessions, and other recruitment events.
  • Supports onboarding activities, including preparing new hire documentation, coordinating orientation sessions, and communicating relevant information to new employees.
  • Participates in a rotation supporting the Augusta National Internship and Fellowship Programs, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, program events, professional development initiatives, and participant engagement.
  • Gains exposure to Total Rewards by assisting with appropriate benefits, wellness, compensation, and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Gains exposure to Learning and Development by assisting with the coordination of training sessions, workshops, orientation programs, and other learning initiatives.
  • Gains exposure to HR Business Partner functions by supporting employee programs, responding to general inquiries, and assisting with departmental initiatives.
  • Supports Human Resources activities related to Masters Tournament preparation and execution.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee and candidate information within Human Resources databases and systems.
  • Assists with organizing employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.
  • Compiles Human Resources metrics, reports, presentations, and other materials for management.
  • Researches Human Resources best practices, policies, procedures, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Provides frontline assistance to employees with general Human Resources inquiries and directs questions to the appropriate team member when needed.
  • Provides general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, maintaining files, and assisting with departmental communications.
Physical Demands

Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties, including preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and completing extensive reading. Occasionally required to walk, work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds, and drive a golf cart. Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment. Constantly required to communicate with and listen to employees, candidates, and other stakeholders.   • Participates in regular meetings with Human Resources leadership to discuss internship progress, receive feedback, and establish professional development goals.
  • Assists with special projects and department-wide initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs all other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Creative, resourceful, and diligent when completing both varied and repetitive responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles preferred.
Related Experience and Education
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with the ability to commit to a 10-month internship.
  • Previous administrative, customer service, recruitment, or Human Resources experience is preferred.
Required Licenses
  • Possess a valid driver's license and/or successfully complete the Club's internal motor vehicle training program.
Projected Work Schedule

Normal work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
