Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least one year of coursework completed and ability to commit to a 10-month internship.
  • Previous experience in a help desk environment or similar technical support role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as point of contact for resolving IT questions or problems across automation systems, software, and hardware.
  • Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to user reports, events, and incidents.
  • Documents actions taken and enters data in the ticketing system; provide prompt technical advice and resolution.

Job description

This role is part of the Augusta National Internship Program, a 10-month, paid program based onsite in Augusta, Georgia. The program provides Interns with hands-on professional experience and meaningful opportunities to contribute within their respective areas while gaining exposure to Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. The purpose of the Information Technology Internship position is to troubleshoot and resolve IT problems and provide other IT support to all departments at ANGC. The IT Intern will be learning and developing skills in this support role, all while maintaining the confidentiality of the Club.

Essential Functions of the Job

Serves as point of contact for resolving customer questions or problems regarding IT automation systems, software and/or hardware problems, password security violations, telecommunication malfunctions/issues, and help desk incidents. Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reports, events and incidents. Research, evaluates, and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns. Provides prompt technical advice, assistance, and problem resolution to ANGC staff and restores systems to operational status. Enters data collected from end-users. Documents in the automated trouble ticket tracking system and the course of action taken to resolve or address the incident. Must be committed to working extended hours during Masters Tournament week. Exposure to Point-of-Sale registers, Voice over IP phone, emerging technologies, creating, and maintaining Windows 10 image and update process, working with Apple products, and applying updates to systems and hardware will be expected.

Physical Demands

Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties. Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart. Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an important part of the job.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes: Knowledge of and skill in applying customer service and customer support principles and methods present formal and informal training and assistance to customers; and report, respond to, and resolve customer requests. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with customers, industry partners, vendors, and outside agency representatives to gain understanding of and communicate technical problems.

Relative Experience/Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least one year of coursework completed and the ability to commit to a 10-month internship. Previous experience working in a help desk environment or similar technical support role is preferred.

Required License(s): Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program.

Projected Work Schedule: Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
