Overview

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. We build emissions‑free electric adventure vehicles and hire curious, courageous souls who love the outdoors and want to protect it. The Rivian Technical Trades Program is a pathway to grow our Field Service Team, providing 24 weeks of hands‑on training and classroom instruction. Graduates receive a certificate and the opportunity to join our Field Service Team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enrollment throughout the 24‑week program.
• Complete a minimum of 40 hours per week, combining class sessions and on‑the‑job training (5–6 days a week, depending on business needs).
• Maintain 90% attendance of all class sessions, lab activities, on‑site training, and any additional scheduled activities.
• Achieve at least an 80% passing grade on all required exams and lab assignments.
• Assist Rivian Service Technicians with general repairs, mobile repairs, and any additional tasks requested.
• Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety of repairs.
• Complete all course curricula objectives.
• Demonstrate Rivian’s Compass Principles daily: Ask Why, Stay Open, Build Together, Zoom Out, Over Deliver.

Qualifications

• Automotive Technology degree, certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in an automotive repair role.
• Willingness to relocate upon program completion for a full‑time placement at a Rivian Service Center.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Physical requirements: ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs for up to 8 hours a day.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no drug/alcohol‑related incidents or more than one serious moving violation in the last 3 years).
• Ability to use Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and communicate via phone, email, or messaging.
• Flexible to work various shifts (AM, PM, weekends, possible holidays) and travel 30–50% to service centers.

Pay & Benefits

• Salary range: $24.00 – $24.00 per hour for Seattle, WA; Atlanta, GA; Allen, TX; Chicago, IL; Sacramento, CA; Winston‑Salem, NC.
