Job summary

Medford Township Public Schools is seeking a passionate Middle School Social Studies Teacher to engage students through inquiry-based instruction aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards. The candidate will design learning experiences that foster historical thinking, civic engagement, and understanding of diverse cultures while building strong relationships with students and families.

This long-term substitute role is hired through ESS and does not accrue seniority.

Qualifications

• NJDOE certification required or standard.
• Middle School Social Studies specialization (Grades 5-8) or Elementary School Teacher with Social Studies experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous instruction in history, geography, civics, economics and related social studies disciplines.
• Utilize primary and secondary sources to promote inquiry and discussion.
• Use assessment data to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Integrate technology and current events into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a positive, inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

• Elementary School Teacher (1000) with prior Social Studies Teaching experience
