Paradise Valley Unified School District Transportation Department is seeking a Field Supervisor to ensure the safe, efficient daily operation of the district’s fleet. You will lead on-site through route monitoring, safety audits, and incident response to safeguard students.
Responsibilities include evaluating driver performance, coordinating with dispatch, supervising field activities, and resolving conflicts with parents and staff to align practice with policy.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Transportation, the Field Supervisor ensures the safe and efficient daily operation of the district’s fleet. This role provides on‑site leadership through route monitoring, safety audits, and emergency incident response. By evaluating driver performance, investigating accidents, and resolving field‑level conflicts with parents and school staff, the Field Supervisor bridges the gap between department policy and real‑world execution to ensure student safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Skills: operating standard office equipment; using pertinent software applications; operating heavy‑light‑duty vehicles; preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Knowledge: safe driving practices; provisions of motor vehicle code and education code applicable to operation of vehicles transporting school students; state licensing requirements; methods of instruction related to in‑service training.
Abilities: schedule activities, meetings, and events; gather, collate, and classify data; consider a variety of factors when using equipment; flexibility; effective communication; maintaining rapport with employees, community and students; independent problem solving.
Work under limited supervision using standardized practices; lead, guide, and coordinate others; utilize resources from other work units.
Physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; fine finger dexterity. Job is performed 70% sitting, 25% walking, 5% standing. Exposure to temperature extremes and conditions with risk of injury or illness.
Minimum 2 years experience working in a Transportation department; job‑related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
High school diploma or equivalent.
