Job summary

Poudre School District in Colorado is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support instruction by working with students one-on-one and in small groups, prepare materials, administer tests, take attendance, and help monitor behavior.

You will collaborate with teachers, attend in-services, and participate in school functions. Hours are 7 per day; benefits include health and retirement plans, PTO, and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Implement and support the teacher's instruction plan.
• Assist teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student achievement.
• Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, etc. Reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.
• Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and/or school functions.

• Pay Range: $18.35-$20.55 (min--12% above min)/hour, based on qualifications and experience

SUMMARY:

Assist with preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, documenting student achievement, and/or monitoring students.

JOB TASKS:

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Implement and support the teacher's instruction plan.
• Assist teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student achievement.
• Monitor students in classroom and during breaks, lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, etc. Reinforce school-wide discipline procedures.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
• Assist teacher and/or administration with special projects.
• Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and/or school functions.
• Administer state testing (TCAP) in small groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of related experience
• Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
• Criminal background check required for hire
