The College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE) at Cal State LA is accepting applications for a pool of part‑time faculty lecturers. Positions are available as needed during the 2026‑2027 academic year, with each semester contingent on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may be required to begin teaching on short notice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Appropriate degree from an accredited university (master’s degree for upper division under‑graduate courses; doctoral degree or master’s degree with substantial teaching experience for graduate courses).
• Demonstrated excellence in college‑level teaching.
• Three to five years of industry‑relevant work experience and proven ability to work with diverse populations.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
• Proven experience teaching online using the Quality Matters rubric.
• Ability to incorporate high‑impact practices, current economic outlook, civic purpose, and interdisciplinary research into curriculum.
• Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Relevant work experience and additional training in project management or adult education.

Duties

Duties of part‑time faculty lecturers include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Course assignments, dates, times, and modalities are directed by the College Dean.

  • Prepare and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and current industry practices.
  • Design assessments and engaging learning activities that support student learning and the development of practical project management skills.
  • Update course content periodically to reflect evolving PMP practices, technologies, and program feedback.
  • Communicate course expectations, learning objectives, and grading policies clearly to students.
  • Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Employ inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices that support diverse learners.
  • Incorporate practical PMP examples, case materials, or professional scenarios to illustrate real‑world application.
  • Evaluate student performance and assign grades based on established learning outcomes.
  • Submit final grades within University timelines and address student inquiries regarding course evaluation as needed.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with University policies.
  • Maintain course materials, assessments, and instructional practices consistent with program standards and recognized guidelines for project management education.
Salary

Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary schedule (as of 7/1/2024) is:

  • Lecturer A/2 Salary Per Unit: $117 – $1,792
  • Lecturer B/3 Salary Per Unit: $117 – $1,957
  • Lecturer C/4 Salary Per Unit: $117 – $2,477
  • Lecturer D/5 Salary Per Unit: $117 – $2,477

The anticipated hiring range is based on rank and student enrollment at census date. Most new faculty lecturers are hired at the Lecturer C rank.
