Appointment Dates

• Summer 2026: June 1 — July 30
• Fall 2026: August 21 — December 23
• Spring 2027: January 21 — May 29

Work Hours

Up to 20 hours per week during the semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional non‑teaching assistance to faculty.
• Assist with research and practical experience in fields related to advanced study.
• Help train or manage students in the use of equipment or resources.
• Assist faculty with research and preparation of course materials.
• Participate in evaluation of student work.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current graduate student or admitted to Cal State LA graduate program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
• Enrolled in courses toward the degree for the semester.
• Good academic standing in the Master Program.
• Ability to work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.

Salary

Initial monthly salary commensurate with qualifications, based on the 12‑month Graduate Assistant schedule:

Salary Range: $3,408 – $6,072 per month (minimum rate typically employed).

Employment Conditions

Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States, satisfactory background check (including criminal records), and verification of Cal State LA enrollment. The position requires compliance with CSU Executive Order 1083 (mandated reporter) and CSU policy that employees must be located in California.
