The role of ELL Testing Clerk II is to support the instructional program by assisting in the assessment of students' English language acquisition from their native language, administering tests, performing clerical tasks related to program placement, and serving as a resource for other personnel providing assistance to non‑English speaking individuals.
Skills: Translating written documents; operating standard office equipment using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Knowledge: Basic math (fractions, percents, ratios); reading manuals; writing documents in prescribed formats; presenting information to others; understanding complex, multi-step instructions; concepts of grammar and punctuation in both English and a second language (preferred).
Abilities: Scheduling activities, meetings, or events; gathering and collating data; using basic, job‑related equipment. Flexibility working with others, handling diverse data, operating equipment by standardized methods; communication with diverse groups, including those with limited English proficiency; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The job typically involves 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing, with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Job‑related experience is required.
