Purpose Statement
The job of CE Childcare Associate I is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for implementing programs for the personal and emotional growth of the referred students; assisting in the monitoring of behaviors; and communicating observations to teachers, parents and administrators.
This job reports to CE Childcare Associate V.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
SKILLS: preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE: basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Stages of child development; methods of motivating and controlling children; and awareness of codes, regulations and laws related to counseling students.
ABILITY: scheduling activities; gathering and/or collating data; using basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility to work with others; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; operate equipment using standardized methods. Problem solving to identify issues and create action plans.
Responsibilities include: working with immediate supervision; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization’s services.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 0% sitting, 0% walking, and 0% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness and in a clean atmosphere.
Job related experience is desired.
High school diploma or equivalent.
