Position Title
Lecturer Pool – Civil Engineering (Part‑time)
Position Overview
We seek qualified candidates to join our part‑time lecturer pool in all areas of Civil Engineering, including Environmental, Transportation, Surveying, Engineering Graphics/CAD, Engineering Statistics, Hydraulics, Water Resources, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineering. Lecturers will teach both lower‑ and upper‑division required and elective courses.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver instruction, grade student work, and hold office hours.
- Assist with departmental needs as assigned.
- Develop and submit course assignments under guidance of Department Chair and College Dean.
Rank and Salary
- Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211
Salary is calculated on a prorated basis for the units taught (units out of a full‑time 15 WTUs). Initial appointments are typically one semester.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; or bachelor’s degree plus at least five years teaching or relevant professional experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Prior university‑level teaching experience.
- Professional engineering experience and board registration.
