Job summary

Crescent City Schools in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist to support students with language and communication development. The role involves working with students individually or in small groups, coordinating with teachers, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, a Louisiana license, and at least one year of full-time SLP experience; CCC-SLP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology.
• Louisiana State License in Speech Pathology is required; CCC-SLP preferred.
• Minimum of one year of full-time professional SLP experience beyond the first year of postgraduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to support language and communication development.
• Consult with the Director of Special Education to apply speech-language strategies in classrooms.
• Coordinate consultants and providers to support the caseload.
• Stay informed on current trends and regulations in speech-language pathology and special education to ensure compliance.
• Write progress reports and annual goals aligned to IEP objectives.
• Lead meetings for speech-only students and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
• Document Medicaid-required monthly progress notes and use electronic encounter tracking system.
• Provide supervision to speech-language pathology teachers if CCC-SLP certified.
• Maintain current licensure and certifications.
• Take on additional tasks as needed.

Job description

The Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist impacts students’ lives by:

• Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to assist with language and communication development.
• Consulting with the Director of Special Education regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settings
• Coordinating consultants and individual providers to support the needs of the speech and language caseload
• Remaining knowledgeable of current trends and federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure compliance
• Writing speech and language progress reports and annual goals to ensure students are on track to reaching their objectives
• Leading meetings for speech-only students; participating in annual IEP meetings, as needed
• Writing monthly progress report notes as required by Medicaid regulations – treatment ties directly to IEP goals/objectives; willingness to be trained on and use electronic encounter tracking system
• If CCC-SLP certified, providing supervision to speech-language pathology teachers across the network
• Keeping certifications and licensures current
• Taking on other tasks as needed

• Possess Louisiana State License in Speech Pathology; CCC-SLP preferred
• Have a minimum of one year of full-time professional speech-language pathology experience beyond the first year of postgraduate professional/employment experience
• Have a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in speech pathology, as specified under Speech Pathology guidelines and/or speech communication disorders

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• This is an in-person role
