Job description

Operations Assistant

Join a dedicated team that fosters autonomy and creativity, while receiving a competitive salary, opportunities for career and personal growth, and the gratification that comes from creating positive multi-generational change.

Ednovate Background

Ednovate launched its first school in 2012. Since then, we’ve grown to eight schools and are on a trajectory to reach 11 schools in the next few years. Ednovate is committed to serving areas where students traditionally lack access to a quality college-prep education by building tuition‑free, safe, high‑performing public schools driven to create positive multi-generational change.

Position Overview

As an Operations Assistant at Ednovate, you will support operational excellence at your school site to ensure that the school is safe and efficient, with resources readily available and aligned to educational priorities. You will be a friendly face for families, staff, visitors, and students in your school’s main office, and will also support student data and attendance processes to ensure that every student is in school every day. This hourly, non‑exempt role reports to the Dean of Operations.

What You'll Do
  • Support operational excellence by working with the operations team to meet all school and network goals for operations, including maintaining student records, meals, cleanliness, school safety, and technology. Lead daily attendance phone calls, support implementation of attendance intervention processes, and support reporting to authorizer and state.
  • Provide top‑notch customer service by welcoming and directing families and visitors, receiving phone calls and delivering messages, supporting uniform sales, and receiving and managing deliveries at the main office.
  • Maintain operational compliance by ensuring accuracy of student data, keeping student files up to date, and supporting preparation for Report Card Pickup. Follow all operational processes for finance, safety, data, and communication to meet authorizer, state, federal, and audit requirements.
Who You'll Be
  • Mission‑driven professional passionate about increasing college attainment for historically under‑represented students.
  • Social justice champion committed to promoting educational opportunity for all students and families.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a workplace characterized by autonomy, flexibility, transparency, and accountability.
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others from diverse backgrounds, uplifts and celebrates teammates, and engages in healthy debate and feedback to get the best results.
  • Resourceful, persistent learner with a growth mindset, constantly seeking to “find a way or make one” to master your craft and improve results.
We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working in operations, customer service, and/or in a K‑12 school setting (preferred).
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish (required).
We're Committed To Giving You
  • A full‑time hourly wage ($22 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience) and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage, including a fully‑paid medical and dental option for employees and their families, and flexible spending account options.
  • Paid family leave, short‑term disability and life insurance benefits.
  • Fitness and entertainment discounts.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • 403(b) retirement savings plan with company match.
  • A place to grow, learn and be part of the Ednovate family.

We believe in inclusion. We aim to intentionally develop a schoolwide culture in which every student and teammate feels a sense of belonging. Ednovate does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, handicap, age, religion, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin.
