Job summary

Boston Prep is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide direct therapy and consultation for students with OT needs within our middle and high school setting. You will maintain a caseload, deliver services per IEPs, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to support each student’s growth.

Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Therapy and current Massachusetts OT license.
• Experience collaborating with school staff to support students.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and related compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and consultation for students with occupational therapy needs
• Maintain caseload of students
• Diagnostic therapy and delivery of services as stated in IEPs
• Consult with staff and parents as needed
• Review information and records to determine appropriate assessment battery
• Perform all initial and Reevaluations; compile clinical written evaluation reports
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed; make recommendations and report progress
• Keep daily therapy logs and track service delivery
• Maintain parent communication log, in cooperation with other school staff
• Maintain collaborative communication with staff to ensure consistent service delivery
• Collaborate with all student service providers to identify and implement student accommodations
• Attend staff meetings, in-service training, parent meetings, student-centered staff meetings
• Compile individual student progress reports as required
• Review cumulative records of assigned students including IEPs, evaluations, progress notes, medical background
• Maintain a respectful, positive, student-centered professional attitude
• Attend to assigned duties; reporting to Director of Support Services
• Communicate with families and school leaders about academic and behavioral progress
• Attend occasional after-school events
• Uproot racism and inequality in the community; model empathy
• Maintain fidelity to school systems and structures; assume extracurricular responsibilities if desired

Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2026-2027, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. Key Responsibilities of the role

• Provide direct support and consultation for students with occupational therapy needs

• Collaborate with all student service providers to identify and implement student accommodations in a variety of environments
• Attend staff meetings, in-service training, parent meetings, student-centered staff meetings
• Compile individual student progress reports as required and within estimated timelines
• Review of all cumulative records of assigned students including: IEPs, evaluations, progress notes, status reports, medical background, etc.
