Job summary

Orangeburg County School District is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to maintain and optimize the district's LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and Internet connectivity. You will configure core services, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, support VoIP, and lead security updates, inventories, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN, wireless networks, Internet connectivity, and network hardware.
• Configure and support core network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching).
• Monitor network performance, logs, alerts, and capacity to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, wireless, and connectivity problems.
• Implement and maintain network security, firewall rules, access controls, segmentation, and updates.
• Manage firmware, patches, and system updates; maintain configuration backups.
• Install and repair cabling, fiber, and network equipment.
• Support VoIP and other network-based telecommunications systems.
• Assist with design, planning, and implementation of network infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site assessments and maintain accurate network documentation and inventories.
• Provide advanced technical support and serve as an escalation point for Technology Support Technicians.
• Coordinate with service providers and vendors for troubleshooting and project work.
• Participate in disaster recovery, incident response, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Respond to outages and perform scheduled maintenance outside normal hours as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
