Job summary

Cabarrus County School District W.M. Irvin Elementary in Concord, North Carolina, seeks a 2026-2027 EC Tutor to support EC students in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings. This temporary, part-time role offers flexible hours based on school and student needs.

The tutor will collaborate with the EC and administrative teams to tailor tutoring approaches and will report to the Principal. Expect up to 20 hours per week with a 530-hour cap.

Qualifications

Job Description

2026 - 2027 Temporary Part-Time Position to support EC students academically in a one-on-one setting, small group setting, and/or whole class setting. Will collaborate with administrative team and EC team to determine what type of support/tutoring will best serve the needs of our EC students.

Flexible hours/schedule based on school/student needs (no more than 20 hours/week)....limited to 530 total contracted hours

General Definition of Work

Provide instruction to students in small groups and individually.

Qualification Requirements

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity.

• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Ability to perform general clerical duties.
• Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
• Ability to operate common office machines.

Salary Hourly rate of pay based on education and experience.

TUTOR

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, typewriters, calculators, pencils, scissors, and equipment for children with special needs, etc.
• Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Due to amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for Light Work.
