Job summary

Responsibilities

Earth Science interns will be assigned to positions and projects that contribute value to Chevron based on degree, relevant academic preparation, previous work experience, and career objectives. Interns will be guided by a supervisor and a technical mentor.

Qualifications
  • Students currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate Thesis program or with less than 2 years post‑graduate degree experience in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or related fields.
  • Professional/academic focus in a technical area aligned with Chevron’s business needs.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Position may require driving on a routine basis.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Prior experience with industry workflows for subsurface characterization.
  • Participation in an energy industry or sponsored university research project.
  • Practical experience with geoscience coding, data science, and/or machine learning.
Relocation

Relocation may be considered within Chevron guidelines and policies.

Regulatory Disclosure

The compensation for this role ranges from $35.20 per hour to $10,200 per month. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on discipline, degree level, and academic year. Chevron offers competitive compensation and benefits programs to eligible employees, including variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, time off, training opportunities, and other allowances.
