Job summary

Crescent City Schools is seeking a Custodial Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment across our campuses in New Orleans. You will collaborate with the Director of Finance and Operations to execute cleaning plans, restock supplies, and respond to urgent custodial needs, including occasional weekend and vacation work.

We value applicants with at least two years of custodian experience, preferably in educational settings.

Qualifications

• At least two years of custodian or janitor experience.
• Experience in schools or around school-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for all members of the school community.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Operations to develop cleaning plans for the building and grounds.
• Execute the cleaning plans as directed.
• Restock bathroom supplies and remove trash and recycling.
• Respond to urgent custodial needs in a timely fashion.
• Assist with cafeteria services and cleaning as needed.
• Work occasional weekends and vacation periods.
• Take on other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.

The Custodial Technician is responsible for:

• Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the school
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all members of the school community
• Collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) to develop daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning plans for the building and grounds
• Executing the cleaning plans
• Restocking bathroom supplies
• Removing trash and recycling from the building
• Responding to urgent custodial needs in a timely fashion
• Assisting with cafeteria services and cleaning, as needed
• Working occasional weekends and vacation periods
• Taking on other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations

Position Requirements

• Belief in the mission and values of Crescent City Schools
• At least two years of experience as a custodian or janitor
• Experience in schools and/or around school‑aged children preferred

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, bend, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Position involves daily exposure to cleaning agents, including bleach
• This is an in‑person role
