Job summary

City Relief is seeking a part-time AmeriCorps Aide for the NJ Programs Team in Paterson, NJ. The role supports Outreach, Volunteer Department, Guest Services, and Warehouse teams to meet the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

The aide will strengthen volunteer systems, improve service delivery, and develop tools/documentation to boost operational effectiveness while learning warehouse operations and inventory management. Training and stipends are provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to work with diverse teams and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Participate in community outreach events serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Conduct outreach to raise awareness of resources and provide referrals; help improve volunteer onboarding materials.
Learn warehouse operations, safety standards, and stock management.
Track inventory and analyze trends; collaborate with staff.
Attend AmeriCorps training and team meetings.

Job description

As a PT AmeriCorps Aide for the NJ Programs Team, member will learn City Relief's service model and how Outreach, Volunteer Department, Guest Services, and Warehouse teams works together to meet the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness & housing insecurity. The AmeriCorps aide will increase organizational capacity by improving City Relief's volunteer systems, enhancing service delivery, strengthening cross-department collaboration, & expanding the organization's ability to effectively serve individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. The aide will focus on strengthening systems that support guest care, including learning warehouse operations, inventory management practices, & project management tools to identify efficiencies, improve communication between departments, and support the consistent distribution of resources. Working alongside staff, the aide will help evaluate current processes, recommend improvements, & develop tools and documentation that increase operational effectiveness.

Member Duties

1. Participate in community outreach events serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
2. Conduct Community Outreach to raise awareness of available resources, assess client needs & provide referrals. Help improve volunteer training materials and onboarding processes.
3. Learn warehouse operations, safety standards, and stock management to improve Outreach/Warehouse coordination.
4. Track inventory, analyze trends, and collaborate with staff.
5. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing AmeriCorps training.
