The Shop Technician Apprentice will perform servicing and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered equipment, working independently and as part of a team. The program includes on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning to keep skills current. Candidates should demonstrate initiative, teamwork, customer service enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills, while maintaining safety standards and professionalism. Program Structure

• Duration: 6 months
• Academic Learning: 1 week in class, 3 weeks in shop
• Outcome: Entry-level technician role

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive work environment aligned with BMC's values
• Complete tasks safely, adhering to safety standards
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel equipment, including engines, transmissions, pumps, compressors, electrical systems, and more
• Perform inspections and testing
• Install and repair parts
• Complete paperwork accurately
• Use diagnostic tools for repairs
• Ensure excellent customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures
• Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics and manuals
• Familiarity with equipment operation and systems
• Ability to operate lifting devices and diagnostic equipment
• Understanding of electronic sensors and connections
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• Experience with CAT equipment is a plus

Working Conditions

• Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
