Minnesota K-12 ASD and/or ABS teaching license required. Will consider EBD or LD licensure if candidate is willing to obtain ASD licensure within two years.

Job Duties and Requirements
- Develop and provide programming based on Individual Educational Plan and make recommendations based on assessed data.
- Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom hours via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, emails, conferences, etc.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to foster an effective learning environment.
- Maintain and improve professional skills through meetings, coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Manage cases for special education students.
- Complete required Due Process procedures within mandated timeframes.
- Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
- Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
- Respond to emergency situations appropriately.
- Follow school district policies.
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals and volunteers as needed.
- Contribute to goal-setting for paraprofessionals.
- Participate regularly in a professional learning community.
- Engage in training on third-party reimbursement and implement related tasks.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Strong curriculum background and experience teaching core content and strategies.
- Experience collaborating with special and regular education staff.
- Experience providing developmental skills instruction in reading, language arts, math, and social skills.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform daily routines effectively.
- Proficiency with computers and classroom technology.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Maintain professionalism in varied situations.
- Show initiative and be a self-starter.
