Essential Responsibilities
  1. Expose students to a variety of musical genres in marching, concert, jazz, and chamber settings.
  2. Collaborate with the music department to craft a music curriculum that celebrates the artistic process.
  3. Recruit and develop music students to develop a thriving high school music program.
  4. Collaborate with the Band Director and Music Department for school-wide events and performances.
  5. Exhibit and uphold Green Dot core values.
  6. Create a culture of learning in your classroom.
  7. Engage in data-driven planning and assessment of student learning.
  8. Establish a culture of respect and rapport with the students which supports the students’ emotional safety.
  9. Facilitate rigorous learning by delivering cognitively engaging lessons that incorporate our instructional methodologies.
  10. Engage in critical reflection, constantly revising practice to increase effectiveness.
  11. Participate in a professional community across your school site and the Green Dot network.
  12. Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and bringing to bear resources that support student success in college, leadership, and life.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree (required).
  2. Experience in teaching multiple instruments, such as piano, guitar, bass or drums.
  3. Growth mindset and love of learning.
  4. Strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students.
  5. Relentless commitment to and high standards for high quality execution.
  6. Passionate and demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility towards ambitious goals.
  7. Excellent collaborative and organizational skills.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Strong ethical base and self-awareness.
  10. Dependable, humble, with a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve.
  11. Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer.
Credential/License Requirements
  1. Possess (or will possess by July 2025) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject credential in Music, OR
  2. Eligible for a California Single Subject Intern credential in Music (candidate must earn an Intern credential by July 2025), OR
  3. Eligible for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP).
