  8. Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and bringing to bear resources that support student success in college, leadership, and life
QUALIFICATIONS

  1. have a bachelor’s degree (required)
  2. have a growth mindset and love of learning
  3. have strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students

CREDENTIAL/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

For California-Based Educators:

  1. Possess (or will possess by July 2025) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Multiple Subject* or Single Subject credential in Social Science, OR
  2. Eligible for a California Single Subject Intern credential in Social Science (candidate must earn an Intern credential by July 2025), OR
  3. Eligible for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP)

*Notes for Multiple Subject Credential Holders:

  1. If you hold only a Preliminary or Clear Multiple Subject credential, you will also need a minimum of 12 post-secondary semester units in Social Science, Social Studies, History, and/or Ethnic Studies courses, and will only be eligible for Social Science positions in our middle schools
  2. Unfortunately, we are unable to hire teachers with a Multiple Subject Intern credential as our classes are departmentalized

For Out-of-State or Non-Credentialed Applicants:

  1. Prior to applying, visit the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (https://www.ctc.ca.gov/) to assess teaching eligibility in a California public school as of July 2025
COMPENSATION - SALARY
  1. For credentialed teachers, our current 2024-25 salary scale ranges from $71,085 to $127,985, depending on your level of education and years of experience
  2. For aspiring teachers who have yet to obtain their credentials or those currently enrolled in a credentialing program/intern-eligible, the current 2024-25 salary range is between $62,316 and $63,866
