Job Description

Position: Kindergarten Teacher

Department: Elementary Instruction

Salary Schedule: Certified Teacher Schedule

FLSA Status: Exempt

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Position Summary

The teacher will establish and foster a positive classroom environment promoting academic and social development. Maintaining compliance with district policies and building positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Teaching certification in Early Childhood recognized by the State of Oklahoma
• Experience with children or in a classroom setting preferred
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily

Essential Duties

• Maintain records and complete reports as required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education
• Teach academic content aligned with state standards
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
• Monitor and evaluate student progress
• Communicate effectively with parents and collaborate with staff
• Identify student needs and collaborate on interventions
• Engage in professional development and set growth goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and communicate effectively in writing. Problem-solving skills and adaptability are required.
