License Required: Minnesota 5-12 Business

Compensation: Click here to view the 2024-25 teacher salary schedule. Rates for this position can be found in Appendix -a-, Schedule A. This position is medical benefit eligible only; it is not dental benefit eligible.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the district-approved curriculum to student needs.
  2. Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  3. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to foster an effective learning environment.
  4. Evaluates students' academic and social growth, maintains records, and prepares progress reports.
  5. Identifies student needs, makes referrals, and develops strategies for individual education plans.
  6. Communicates regularly with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, emails, and conferences.
  7. Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors.
  8. Participates in professional development activities to stay current with teaching best practices.
  9. Engages in professional learning communities.
  10. Integrates technology into instruction.
  11. Performs other similar duties as required.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Collaborates in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
  • Supports and communicates with other administrators and staff.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Follows district policies.
  • May coordinate work of paraprofessionals and volunteers.
  • Provides input on goal-setting for paraprofessionals.
