Join to apply for the 2025 - 2026 Substitute Teacher role at Frontline Education. This is a part-time, on-site position in Alabama requiring an active Substitute Teacher license (Alabama). Related experience in a school or with children is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assume duties of the regular classroom teacher promptly and in accordance with school rules.
- Implement existing lesson plans to ensure the integrity of academic time and motivate student learning and participation.
- Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics as determined by the classroom teacher’s lesson plans.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework in accordance with the lesson plans.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students’ maturity and interests.
- Address various learning styles and maintain classroom control to foster a safe, positive environment in line with school policies and applicable laws.
- Provide adequate supervision to ensure health, welfare, and safety of students; protect equipment and facilities.
- Remain in the classroom to monitor students and ensure they are not left unattended; report injuries, accidents, illnesses, or discipline issues to school personnel as required.
- Seek assistance for serious or disruptive behavior, and follow sign-in/sign-out procedures as prescribed by the principal.
- Interact professionally with students, parents, and school personnel; maintain confidentiality; use appropriate discipline techniques without physical contact.
- Conduct classes as scheduled and enforce student conduct regulations; be punctual and responsive in using available instructional technology.
- Maintain current contact information with the Human Resources Department.
- Note: After ten days in the same assignment, the role may transition to a long-term assignment with changes to responsibilities and pay as described by school policy.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma
- Completed Background Clearance
- Related experience working in a school or with children preferred
- At least a valid Alabama Substitute Teacher License
Physical Demands
- See, hear, and communicate effectively in a classroom setting
- Move between positions (standing, sitting, walking, kneeling or crouching); quick movement may be required in drills or emergencies
- Reaching, lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
- Dexterity for computer use and classroom technology

- Moderate noise level; access to telecommunications
