Description

Propel seeks a Middle School Social Studies Teacher (Grades 6-8) for the 2025-2026 school year. Propel schools operate with an extended school year to increase learning time and opportunities for our scholars, with 190 instructional days and 30 professional development days for a total of 220 work days annually.

  • Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $49,985 - $100,460 (year 3 of salary scale) based on relevant prior work experience.
  • Relocation Allowance: Available for new hires moving to the area from 90 miles away or further.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individuals and families.
  • Retirement: Participation in a 403(b) with Propel contributing 5% automatically and matching up to 4% after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: 2 paid Wellness Days, 5 sick days, and 10 Personal Days annually.
  • Tuition Assistance: Up to $3,000 reimbursement annually for eligible coursework.

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for collaborating with administrators and staff to lead students to learning success, developing and teaching curriculum based on the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards.

  • Design coherent instruction that aligns with state standards.
  • Update learning resources and participate in professional development.
  • Create a respectful and engaging instructional environment.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies to engage students.
  • Manage student behavior and classroom procedures effectively.
  • Assess student learning and use the information to drive instruction.
  • Implement IEPs and participate in the special education process as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress.
